Here we have a display that shows the occurrence of Dermestid larvae for a period of one week after skeletal materials from field work were placed into the drying hoods (located here).  Obviously, someone put the skeletons there without freezing them first, and you can see the result.  As soon as maggots were seen, the entire group of skeletons were placed into a freezer.  One item that should be mentioned here is that the colors on the map reflect the number of pests observed in a particular grid section.  The “hotter” colors indicate higher numbers of pests while “cooler” colors reflect lower numbers.
